Girlfriend 2

A guy in the office likes a song. keeps humming it.

His girlfriend slams the same song and says sarcastically, 'who the hell likes the song?'

He goes like, 'no one! its such a phaltoo song, why would anybody sing it?'

Some wishes do come true!

A long time ago, a young boy had seen a TV report on Doordarshan about the Rail Museum in Delhi. It seemed impossible at the time and even he didn't know how he would do it but he had somehow known that one day he would visit the museum.

Its rare to find a boy who has never once in his life been impressed and held in awe by cars, trains or bikes (and now the Metro!) He too was such a little boy, so like the others in this one regard.

He had also read about a dolls' museum in the national capital and, curiously, was again sure in his heart that he would visit the museum some day.

Its said that if you want something by heart, the universe conspires to make it happen for you. Did something like that happen?

The young boy grew up into, I am afraid, a not so fine a young man. A lot had taken place in the years after his innocent wish and determination.

He somehow scampered through the high school, managed to complete the graduation, surprisingly went on for a post graduate degree and got a job as well. His father had migrated to his city for work from a neighboring state and now he was traveling to the same state for a job.

Nobody knows the plans of the providence.

He didn't know what was in store for him. He was sent to Delhi by the company to work on a project. That was the start of yet another interesting chapter of his life. However, it reminded him of his childhood wish. Now, he was in a position to finally fulfill it.

He had a friend who would be happy to accompany him. They visited the rail museum, took a ride in the toy train and bought a book about the Indian railways.
It didn't stop at that. The museum has a monorail and the visitors are allowed a ride on the Sundays! These two salaried guys, who sometimes had to attend office on Saturdays, had been fortunate enough to be there on a Sunday.
Boy! Were they happy!

The friend had to leave for his home town though. The little boy was once again all lonely in the big bad city of Delhi.

He had something to do though. It would have been a pity if he didn't visit the dolls' museum after all. All alone, he made plans for one of his last weekends in Delhi. He went to the National Science Center on the Saturday and vowed to be back again.
The next day, he took a metro to the nearest station (which is not really very near) and then went on foot. It took him quite a lot of time to find the place. He didn't ask a lot for directions. It wasn't because men don't ask but because his head was in a turmoil.

Finally, the building was on him. He bought a ticket. Felt a bit silly buying just one adult ticket while everyone was there with the family or a girlfriend. (Notice the difference? 'the' family and 'a' girlfriend!)

Then he entered the wonderland. He was lost there till it was time to down the shutters for the day!

He kept wondering if Delhi was just a co-incidence or something more.

Can he do it again? Does he stil have that innocence?
